Own-check at food premises
‘Own-check’ refers to the operator’s own system through which they aim to ensure that the food is safe and compliant with food legislation.
As an operator, you must identify risk factors related to food safety involved in your operations and the food you process and ensure that these factors are controlled.
Porvoo Environmental Health Services have prepared own-check templates that registered food premises can use where applicable and add their own information on them. The Environmental Health Services have also prepared instructions for sampling during own-checks, for example.
